This upcoming Saturday, September 6 is our next work party! It will be the big apple harvest. We hope you can make it out.
Also, mark your calendars! The Copley end of the season Harvest Party will take place on Sunday, October 26th at Trout Lake Community Centre.
SEPTEMBER WORK PARTY
Date: Saturday, September 6
Time: 10am – 2pm
Potluck @ 1 PM
We will be learning about the uses of some of the herbs growing in the raised beds, and harvesting some to store and use over the winter.
We will also:
– remove blighted pear trees
– renovate/thin strawberry beds
– clean up around Hawthorne
– harvest apples
– attend to damaged branches on heritage apple trees
– widen blueberry circles
Don’t forget:
- dress for the weather
- water bottle
- potluck item (please label with ingredients so we can respect the needs of those with food concerns)
- plate and cutlery
Donation Requests:
- work gloves
- hand tools for weeding
